Things To Do In Bordeaux

Now we’re in February, Bordeaux is beginning the countdown to the UEFA Euro finals. The region’s city is hosting four group stage matches and a quarter final, which means that many exciting events will be happening in the region this summer.

A new stadium was built, in Bordeaux, ahead of the 2015/16 season. Even those without tickets can enjoy the matches though as the UEFA Euro Championships have led to the creation of a Fan Zone on the Esplanade des Quinconces, which is the biggest in France.

The first match that kicks off in the new Bordeaux stadium is on 10th June when Wales will meet Slovakia.

This striking stadium features a ‘floating’ roof, which is supported by a large number of thin poles. It is located between a man-made lake and the Garonne River in North Bordeaux, previously home to the Stade Chaban-Delmas.

Projects will also be organised for the city’s animation programme, at the same time as the Bordeaux fete le vin festival.
